What we love

  • Square body cleans corners 43% better than round robots
  • 8mm mop lift handles most carpet transitions
  • Excellent long runtime (185 mins)
  • TrueDetect 3D obstacle avoidance is very reliable
  • Slim 92.5mm body fits under low furniture

What could be better

  • Square design makes it slightly less agile around tight furniture
  • ECOVACS Home app has had stability issues
  • Pricier than Eufy for similar specs
Our verdict8.7

The Deebot X2 Omni's square design is its killer differentiator — it genuinely cleans corners better than any round robot we've tested. If you have rooms with right-angle corners and want thorough edge coverage, this is your robot. The 8mm mop lift and solid all-in-one station make it a premium package.

Cleaning Performance

The square shape delivers on its promise — in our standardized corner cleaning test, the X2 Omni left 57% less debris in corners than round robots. Suction at 8,000 Pa is comparable to Eufy. The rubber brush is more durable than bristle alternatives for pet hair.

Mopping Performance

The 8mm mop lift is one of the best in this category, clearing even thick rugs without dragging. Vibrating mop mopping quality is similar to competitors — fine for maintenance cleaning, not heavy scrubbing.

Base Station & Autonomy

The OMNI station includes everything: auto-empty, mop wash, hot-air dry, and clean water refill. The 3L tanks are a good size for most homes. Build quality feels premium throughout.

App & Smart Home

ECOVACS Home has improved significantly with recent updates. The map management is good and zone/room cleaning works reliably. The app has had historical stability issues — less so now but worth noting. Alexa and Google Assistant integrations work well.
