What we love
- ProLeap retractable legs climb thresholds up to 2.36 in — clears rugs and room transitions rivals get stuck on
- 20,000 Pa Vormax suction, among the strongest in any consumer robot
- VersaLift retractable LiDAR drops the body to 3.5 in to clean under low furniture
- HyperStream DuoBrush genuinely resists long-hair tangling
- MopExtend arm and side brush reach deep into corners and edges
What could be better
- No local / Home Assistant control
- Bulky base station needs dedicated wall clearance
- Premium price even on sale
The X50 Ultra is the most capable robot Dreame has shipped. The retractable ProLeap legs are not a gimmick — they clear thresholds and thick rugs that leave most flagships stranded, and the 20,000 Pa suction and detangling brush make it a genuine pet-home powerhouse. If you have split-level floors, high thresholds, or low furniture, nothing else navigates as confidently. The only real gaps are the lack of Home Assistant support and the flagship price.
Cleaning Performance
At 20,000 Pa, the X50 Ultra pulls embedded debris and pet hair out of medium-pile carpet with ease, and on hard floors it leaves nothing behind in a single pass. The HyperStream DuoBrush handled a week of long human and cat hair with almost no wrapping — a real weak point on older Dreame units that is finally solved here.
Mopping Performance
Dual rotating mop pads with the MopExtend arm scrub hard floors under real pressure and swing out to reach baseboards and corners. The pads lift on carpet, and the base station hot-washes and hot-air dries them after every run so they never sour between sessions.
Base Station & Autonomy
The all-in-one dock empties the bin into a sealed bag good for up to 75 days, refills the onboard clean-water tank, and washes and hot-air dries the mops. For most homes that means topping up water roughly once a week and forgetting about it otherwise.
App & Smart Home
The Dreamehome app covers multi-floor maps, no-go zones, room-level suction and water settings, and five cleaning modes. It has improved a lot but still trails Roborock for polish, and there is no local API or Home Assistant integration for smart-home tinkerers.
