Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro
Auto-detects dirt and adjusts suction — NeverTouch Pro base handles everything else
What we love
- PowerDetect technology automatically senses dirt and boosts suction
- NeverTouch Pro base auto-empties, auto-washes mop pads, and auto-refills water
- LiDAR Matrix Clean navigation ensures thorough full-room coverage

What could be better
- 4,000 Pa suction trails Chinese flagships at this price point
- No hot-air mop drying — pads air-dry only
- Base station footprint is large
The Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro is the most autonomous robot Shark has built. PowerDetect sensing adjusts cleaning intensity on the fly, and the NeverTouch Pro base handles emptying, washing, and refilling without any user input. At $999 it competes with stronger-suction rivals, but for Shark loyalists who want a genuinely hands-off system, it delivers.
Cleaning Performance
PowerDetect technology uses onboard sensors to detect high-traffic areas and concentrated debris, automatically increasing suction power in response. In practice this means the robot spends more passes on dirty zones without requiring manual scheduling adjustments. Suction at 4,000 Pa is lower than Chinese flagship competitors but sufficient for hard floors and low-to-medium pile carpet.
Mopping Performance
Sonic mopping delivers consistent scrubbing on hard floors. The mop lifts when carpet is detected, preventing moisture transfer. The NeverTouch Pro base washes the mop pads automatically after each run and refills the onboard water supply from the 1.5L reservoir — a genuinely hands-off mopping cycle.
Base Station & Autonomy
The NeverTouch Pro base is the headline feature: it auto-empties debris into a 60-day bag, washes and wrings the mop pads, and refills the robot's water tank before each run. The only manual task is replacing the dust bag every two months. No hot-air drying means pads need a few hours to air dry between wet runs.
App & Smart Home
SharkClean app covers all the essentials: room-by-room scheduling, suction and mop intensity controls, no-go zones, and cleaning history. Alexa and Google Assistant work reliably. The app is less feature-dense than Roborock's but notably more approachable for non-technical users.
